Consolidation Notifications for 2026-2027
  1. Prior to the Thanksgiving break, Principals at Harrison and G.W. Stout notified families of existing students that are on zone exemptions at their school in grades 1st - 4th grade to determine their intent for the 26-27 aschool year.
  2. Notifications were sent to all current 5th and 6th grade students attending G.W. Stout, Jose Barrios, and Harrison Schmitt, to let them know that their zoned School for the upcoming 26-27 school year would be La Plata Middle School.
  3. Also, prior to Thanksgiving notifications were sent via ParentSquare to all families that live outside of Silver Schools district boundaries that are currently attending Silver Scholars and Sixth St, regarding zone exemptions for the 26-27 school year.
  4. Prior to the Christmas break letters will be sent to all students currently enrolled at G.W. Stout, Jose Barrios, Harrison Schmitt, Sixth Street, and Silver Scholars notifying them of which school they will be zoned for in the upcoming 2026-2027 school year.
  5. The Zone Exemption portal is already open for the 26-27 school year. Parents may submit a zone exemption request for each child in their household that they would like to request eligibility to attend a school other than the one whose boundaries they live in.
  6. Zone exemptions will be granted based on a first come, first serve basis up until the designated class loads assigned for the grade level. There is no "family" zone exemption, meaning that each student is looked at individually, there is no sibling preference when it comes to class loads.
  7. Notices of granted zone exemptions will be made as soon as possible after the district has rolled over our school year in our student information system (SIS), PowerSchool. Typically notifications are made beginning at the end of the first week of July. Notifications are made based on the contact information received in the submission and will come from the Director of Technology.
  8. New Student registration for students that are new to Silver Consolidated Schools will be opened on March 1st, 2025. This is not for students who currently attend Silver Schools, but may be changing schools next year.
  9. Returning student registration for current students for the 26-27 school year will be opened on May 1st, 2025. Parents should look for their snap codes in their emails that week.
